Testimony Needed on HB 200 TODAY

Please see the notice below regarding HB 200 HD1 relating to the State budget.  The house draft significantly reduces the levels of funding for the DD/ID Medicaid Waiver program which would have tremendous impacts to services for the individuals we support.  We DO NOT want to see reductions across the board as we have experienced in the past.  In order to prevent this from happening we need to be proactive and advocate for appropriate funding levels.  Please take a moment and SUBMIT TESTIMONY TODAY!!!

Info provided by the DD Council regarding impacts of the adjustments is below and the link to the hearing notice is also included.  The link to the hearing notice will provide information on how to submit testimony.

Let’s take this moment to band together and ensure the voices of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are heard.   Let’s educate the legislature on why our services are important and how they impact the individuals and families we serve.

Thank you for taking the time to be a part of this effort to ensure the DOH DDD gets the slice of the budget pie that is need to sustain services.

Home and Community Based Services Waiver funding of $2,683,384 for Fiscal Year 2014 and $2,683,384 for Fiscal Year 2015. The House only included $1,500,000 for Fiscal Year 2014 and zero funds for Fiscal Year 2015.

2.      Intermediate Care Facilities funding for $704,504 for both FY 2014 and FY 2015.  The House did not include any funds for both fiscal years.

3.      Fiscal Agent to Process Department of Human Services Claims funding for $290,000 for both FY 2014 and FY 2015.  The House did not include any funds for both fiscal years.

  • Share your story on how the HCBS waiver and/or ICF/ID program impacts your life or others, and if funds and services are reduced, how your life would be affected.  You may also include that without additional funding, current services would be reduced and there would be no more new admissions into the waiver program; homes would be closed for the ICF/ID program.
