INDEPENDENCE

CREATIVITY

INCLUSION

Full Life believes that Adult Day Health should be focused on safety, creativity and respect. The Ola Pono Learning Center supports participants by providing an inclusive environment for artistic development, creative expression, and professional support.

The Ola Pono Learning Center is committed to supporting safety, growth, connection, dignity, autonomy, purpose, and fun. Full Life believes that every person deserves to lead a happy, fulfilled and self-determined life based on their own individual strengths, preferences and dreams. We believe in the intrinsic value of each and every human being, and in their fundamental right to have authority over their life. We believe that families, communities and workplaces are made stronger when we embrace all of our members, whatever their abilities; when each and every one of us is empowered to create, live and share a Full Life.

INDEPENDENCE: DEVELOPING AND SUPPORTING ESSENTIAL SKILLS

The staff at the Learning Center is committed to teaching and supporting individuals in gaining the skills and competencies to achieve their goals and maximum independence.

Skills are taught in small groups and in individual sessions using a variety of teaching techniques. A classroom area with computers is integrated into community settings. Some skills are taught and practiced in our Mango Court location.

CREATIVITY:  ART FOR ALL

Art knows no limitations and is a powerful way to communicate. Art brings together individuals and commuities in beauty, creativity, and joy. Artists access career-oriented support through inclusive classes, events, and resources. Full Life provides a professional workspace, access to a thriving marketplace, gallery display options, partnerships with other community arts organizations, and 1:1 support for starting and maintaining self-employment.

Motivated by aloha, we use art to bring joy and empower individual ability, expression, and dignity. We believe that everyone’s unique abilities can be unlocked and utilized for self-expression and personal fulfillment

INCLUSION: MEANINGFUL PARTICIPATION IN THE KONA COMMUNITY

Full Life’s Adult Day Health Services is truly community-based.  Services are located at Ali’i Gardens Marketplace and offers daily interaction with a variety of community members. Furthermore, small groups and a staff member participate in leisure, recreational, volunteer and learning activities in Kona based on the choices and interests of the individuals who attend the Learning Center. Interest groups may depart from Mango Court, the Thrift and Gift Store, or their homes for community-based activities.
